    Smile Monitors and spam

I for one, am very happy to be back on this site with Dick & Gloria and all the lovers of WWII firearms and memorabilia. Sadly, it seems, it hasn't taken the spammers long to get back on site as well.
With registration required to post etc. I don't understand how these clowns get back so quickly, but I'm not a computer guy. I do think, however, that on other sites......including the Milsurps site we were fortunate enough to have in the interim, they have Monitors. These good folks, while occasionally a bit heavy handed, were able to get the idiots off site quickly, and provided a valuable service.
With all sincerity, Dick & Gloria, I hope there is a plan to do something similar before we lose control of this wonderful gathering spot.
I know you're still getting parts of this site up and running, but I pray some form of monitoring to keep the spammers away is nearing completion.
    Respectfully,
    Sloop

There are instructions for emailing us on the Guntalk forum, but since most of the spam seems to land here, I will repeat them here. If you find spam, just email me at nwind@povn.com and let me know. Night shift email Gloria at webmaster@jouster.com and she will handle it, except for the next few days when she will be away from her computer. If the spam increases, we will require admin approval to sign up for the forum, but would rather not take that step if we can keep the spam manageable.

Default So why is the Aston Martin post still up?

That's clearly a commercial. Figure that guy is just testing your defenses or he's read about these high powered gun auctions and (mistakenly) thinks we have REAL money...
