    Default M1917 Winchester value?

    I have a '17 Win that I purchase a number of years ago that I am considering selling. Here's the specs;
    Ser# 3567XX, bbl date 6-18, bright bore (unusual), Win bolt, Win stock no visible cartouches, some dings, left butt stamped "RA" (raritan armory?) some "E" parts on the action. Parkerized finish is 85% (est.).

    What's my high $# and low $#?

    TIA for any replies.

    Well even for a mixmaster Winchester you can still be looking at 600-700, and if you get lucky and some folks get in a bidding war it could go much higher.
    I have seen mixmaster Winchesters sell as high as 1000, but that is really unusual to see it go for that much.
    I would say the 6-700 is a more likely price but you may get lucky.

    Is the Barrel a Winchester? You didn't mention the maker on that, and if it is a Winchester barrel its very likely an original barrel receiver combo; the date is right, as you rifle was made on 3 July 1918

    Dan,

    I just looked closer at the BBL and I see a "W" over the ord. bomb. Should have looked closer initially. By your reply, I am hearing the cash register.

    Thanks.

    I recently bought two WRA's myself. Both are original barreled in nice shape,some WRA parts and bolts etc, paid $650 for one and $600 for the other. Found a real nice WRA stock and handguard set locally for $150 for one of them. For the other, I found an ugly Eddystone that had a mint WRA stock on it,bought the rifle for $499, removed the WRA stock and put a spare Eddystone I had in its place then resold the rifle to a local gunshop for $450, so I got my other WRA stock for $50 !!
    Around here original barreled WRA's pop up once in awhile, the local dealers usually ask around $700 for them. To have one with the original stock I'd say it's worth a bit more, maybe in the 800-850 range or so. The stock alone on Epay would probably fetch 200-250.

    I lucked in to a couple of winchesters two years ago. They were listed under p-17 but not 1917 enfield and no one was bidding on them. Both marked with red paint and one with "55 RCA 24" stamped on the butt.

    Red paint, Home Guard. Don't stick on of HM's .303 rounds in it.

    The worst part of it was the cost. Each had shipping and dealer fees. One cost me $435 and the other was $465. All major parts are winchester. I haven't been able to bring myself to make them 100% winny. I just feel that it would hurt thier history. Both have great bores. Interestingly, both have have the coil spring modified ejectors. Some day I'll get me one of them .303 p-14s.
