The graphics are complements of Mr. Paul E. Neudeck,
the late John W. Thomason Jr. Capt. USMC from a 1926 Book, “Fix
Bayonets", Gil
Walker illustrator of the book “The Compact History of the United Sates
Marine Corps” first edition, 1960. Hopefully, none of these
gentlemen will mind “borrowing” their most excellent
graphics to illustrate Bob's great poetry. All of these gentlemen
understood the importance of well aimed rifle fire. When I was a
youngster, my Marine Instructor's told me that regardless of supporting
fire, and specialized weapons, the last 50 yards always belong to the
man with the rifle and bayonet... And so it was, no truer words were
ever spoken! Our thanks to Bob for reminding us of this important
truism!
